Wednesday December 4/19: On Wednesday evening, Larry, Rod (both in shorts), Laura, Eoin, Kevin and Glenn walked from the Centre along Beaverbrook, Eastlake to Underhill and returned the same way, distance 5 km, time 1h02. It was a beautiful night, no rain, and about +6 C.
On Monday evening, Kevin, Glenn, Susan and Eoin walked the Eastlake to Underhill route as well, in a bit of rain.
From Jennel and the Coquitlam Cruisers: Monday morning, Jennel & Heather ran an adventure! Jennel started off by running a few kilometres back & forth for my children and the forgetting of homework. Then she got chauffeured over to Heather’s and the two ladies ran to Costco, grabbed some photos and ran back to Heather’s where Jennel’s chauffeur was awaiting her arrival to drive her back home. WOW, that was a long run 20.73 km for Jennel (that’s including the early morning sprint & dog walking)….Then 14 km for Heather I think. It seemed shorter running to Costco…..the return back home seemed to last forever!!! LOL
Saturday December 6/19:On Saturday morn, Kevin, Susan, Larry, Eoin, Laura and Flora braved the rain and walked the Stoney Creek trail to North Road, up past Como Lake Road then continued along North Road south to Tim Horton’s where coffee and refreshments were taken, then the group proceeded back to Cameron Centre. Walk distance was about 5 km and walk time about 1 hour. Timmie’s time also 1 hour. Umbrellas replaced Santa hats for the day : ( .
Monday December 8/19:
Eight Cruisers: Edie, April, Eoin and Laura, Glenn and Brenda, Kevin, Alex and Rod went from Cameron on the usual Lake City course.
Weather clear and cold. Dress varied from shorts to Arctic-like attire (eskimos would be envious). Wonder what will happen when it gets really cold??????
A lot of the world’s troubles were sorted out in the 5km, 1h05 walk.
Our leader was badly missed. Xmas hats on Wed night, and lights, though it might be wet.

Monday morning Jennel & dog Nellie hiked the Coquitlam Crunch in the FREEZING COLD! Wowers, it was chilly. Even poor Nellie got a little frostbite on her belly! Just the Crunch total km.
Wednesday December 10/19: On Wednesday evening Larry, Kevin and Susan braved the rain and walked along Beaverbrook, up and across the Gaglardi overpass, up the big Forest Grove hill to the crest of Ash Grove Crescent, then returned the same way. The rain almost subsided and it was quite mild, +7 C, so it wasn’t too bad. Distance 5 km, time 57 minutes. Alex and Angela stopped by to say hello on their way to the Cliff Ave. United Church Christmas Carolling service.
Eoin and Laura, Alex and Angela and Bob and Marie attended the Cliff Avenue United Church annual Christmas carol and songs evening Wednesday. Ninety folks attended to hear and sing 30 carols and songs, the words displayed on a screen and the music supplied by pianist Perry Dickison, opening remarks supplied by Rev. Jennifer Goddard-Sheppard.. The event was well done, the enthusiasm high. Light refreshments followed. See photos taken by Eoin in an email sent out concurrently with this one.
Coquitlam Cruisers:

On Saturday morning Rod, Larry, Flora, RA Edie with April, Susan and Bobtoc met at the Centre, some supplied with new Santa hats courtesy of Rod, therefore all sporting Santa hats, on a no rain day and walked to Piper Spit in the Burnaby Lake park. The route in the park was fairly busy with runners and a few walkers. The sextet viewed the ducks, admired their colouring, and headed back to the Centre. Distance and time, 8 km, 2:02. Temperature for the walk was about 6 above.
Monday December 16 2019
On Monday Glenn and Kevin did the walk to Underhill and back in 1 hr on a cold but clear night.
From Jennel : Nellie and Jennel ran the Coquitlam Crunch this morning after dropping off daughter at school. Haven’t been writing reports last week, just busy getting in any activity I can. Actually hiked the Crunch 3 times last week. So, I’m doing alright. But, it all equals out with all the Christmas parties we’re going to. Love it though. Family and friends! ‘Tis the Season! Merry Christmas! Didn’t use GPS but ran 5651 Steps!! By 9.15 am.
Wednesday December 18 2019:
On Wednesday evening, five hardy souls and a canine braved the darkness and the elements, although amazingly the rain let up for most of the walk, but it was a bit windy. Eoin, Kevin, Glenn and Larry walked while Alex and Cora jogged, all of us doing the Forest Grove route starting along Beaverbrook, past the Stoney Creek school, across the Gaglardi Way overpass, up the Forest Grove hill, down Underhill, along Eastlake and you know the rest. Alex and Cora’s time was 75 minutes, the others’ was 85 minutes, and distance by all was 7.5 km.
Saturday December 21 2019:On Saturday morning there was a big turnout for our last walk before Christmas, with 12 Cruisers attending!! Rod, Larry, Alex, Kevin, Glenn, Brenda, Len, Miriam (with Jax), Eoin, Laura, Ivan and Flora walked along Joe’s trail (Flora and Len jogged) and then up North Road to Tim Horton’s where refreshments, lively conversation and greetings of the season were exchanged. Distance walked – about 8 km, and walk time 1h15 or so. 
We’ll be taking a break during the Christmas week and resuming next Saturday, but don’t let that stop you from getting outside and doing a walk, a hike, a bike ride, a run, or whatever keeps you moving and healthy!
