Week of September 17th

Six Cruisers met at and ran from the Centre Monday in glorious summer-like weather.  Alex, RA Edie, Laura, Norman, Sherian and Bobtoc's route was south on Erickson Drive to the underpass, a slight east onto Cardston, south and west onto Government St to Production Way, north to Eastlake to return to the Centre; time out 49 minutes, distance circa 6.5 km.

Seven Cruisers ran or walked from the Centre Wednesday evening using the Stoney Creek trail to North Road.  Larry walked to North Road and returned with Edie and Bobtoc who jogged to North Road but walked back to the Centre.  Alex, Sherian, Norman and Rene continued north on North Road, Alex cutting back before the other three before his return to the Centre.  Norman and Rene ran briskly up the SFU trail, cutting into it midway up on North Road and continued well up onto the SFU trail.   Times for Edie, Bobtoc and Larry, 44 minutes, for the others, up to 49 minutes.  As said, Norman and Rene ran quite quickly.  The seven enjoyed the best night of the year; not hot but warm temperature, little humidity. 

Five Cruisers ran Saturday am at Rocky Point under cloudy skies and cool temperature, ideal for the run.  Larry, Rene, Laura, Len Soet and Bobtoc set out for the Old Orchard Park Beach with the Larry, Rene and Laura well ahead.  Len and Bobtoc continued west onto Alderside and April Road and continued west to the church, then north on the road toward White Pine Beach to the turnoff toward Belcarra Park before retracing their steps to Rocky Point.  Their time and distance, 2:27 and 14.2 km respectively.  The other three ran to the Old Orchard Park, retraced their steps back to Rocky Point, set out again to Old Orchard Park Beach, then, using the asphalt pavement path which ultimately parallels Murray Street, returned again to Rocky Point in a vain attempt to find Len and Bobtoc.  Time and distance of the trio, approx 12 km and 2 hours.  All venues were busy with runners and walkers, and on the return trip from Old Ochard Park to Rocky Point, with about two dozen volunteers for the Noon's Creek Ecological Society busy picking up materials that could be harmful to birds.  The volunteers did an amazing job.

Newest Cruiser Arrives - Eloise!

Our baby girl was born on Sept 21st at 11:50am at Lions Gates Hospital (7lbs, 4oz and 50 cm).  Big brother Damien is liking his baby sister and gives her big kisses. His baby sister's name is Eloise.

We came home on Monday and are going great.
