On Monday Alex, Edie, Larry, Laura, Rod and
Bobtoc walked 6:30 pm from the Centre to the Stoney Creek trail to North Road,
south to Jefferson Ave, south again to Tyndall St, continued south
crossing Como Lake Road onto North Road, west into Still Creek St then Noel
Drive to Sullivan, then east to the Cameron trail leading back to Cameron St and
the Centre. Time and distance, 1:04, 7 km. The six enjoyed a
precip-free evening.
On Wednesday, Libby, Laura, Edie,
Alex and Larry walked along the Stoney Creek trail, cut over by the school, up
across the Gaglardi overpass, along Forest Grove, found the trail behind Forest
Grove Elementary School, followed the trail to Shellmont, walked down
Shellmont to Arden, along to Broadway, Underhill, Eastlake, Beaverbroook and
back to Cameron Centre. Definitely a gorgeous evening for a walk, the best
evening this year so far. Time 1 :50, distance 8.5 km or about 40 furlongs
(we use furlongs because it sounds like we went a longer distance).
(Editor's note: the allusion to horse races invites
conjecture ).
Feedback from
Coquitlam:
Just reporting Heather & I hiked up the
Coquitlam Crunch. 1:45.
P.S. Our last run was NOT SHORT at all! We ran the 10km Terry Fox Run Route in our Blue & Yellow! We both noticed you put down "short run"....on the contrary - it was not short!

On Saturday morning four Cruisers turned
out, Edie and Larry to walk, and Alex and Bobtoc to run. Edie and Larry
walked to the Nature House near Piper Avenue via the Burnaby Lake north trail
and returned to the Centre; time and distance, 1:15, 7.5 km. Alex and
Bobtoc also used the north trail, running to the Bby Lake parking lot and
reteurn, although Bobtoc took a wrong turn extending his run to the Cariboo Dam
by an estimated 2:0 km, also for Alex who extended his run in
backtracking looking for Bob. All's well that ends well. The two met
at the Cariboo Dam. Time and distance, 2:25, 12.8 km plus
2:0. The four endured some light rain although found the north trail
fairly dry due to recent maintenance. On Friday Alex ran 16 km
solo. Now he is tapering for the marathon.
On Sunday morning Laura, Flora and Ross I went in the
Transplant Trot at Bby Lake, 8k. Laura;s time was approx
47.50. Laura did not know the times for Flora & Ross. but
believes they ran/walked. It was a great day for a run at the lake, mostly
sunny with a few clouds interrupting now &
then. Laura
