Seven Cruisers ran or walked from the
Centre in summer-like weather conditions Wednesday evening. RA Edie
plus canine Cruiser April and Larry walked to the intersection of Underhill and
Broadway before returning to Cameron Centre. Runners Stormin' Norman and
Rene ran like a dose of salts to the IGA corner and return, their time and
distance one hour and 9.5 km. Alex, Rod and Bobtoc ran the same
route although the latter two went to a turnaround halfway between the
IGA corner and Duthie Avenue before returning to the Centre; time and
distance for Alex, 1:20 taking into account his bobturns, and for the other two,
1:30 and 10 km.
In Coquitlam, Jennel reports:
My Wednesday "run" consisted of a girlfriend of mine & myself walking around the track while our kids ran in the soccer field that was in the middle of the track. Not much of a walk, but at least we got some fresh air (and the kids got tired for their naps. Beautiful day today!

Six Cruisers ran from the Centre
Saturday on clearly the best day of the year. RA Edie, Laurie, Laura,
Alex, Rod and Bobtoc ran to Burnaby Lake using Government St., Caribooo to the
dam, clockwise around the lake. Laurie left the group at the Nature House
at Piper for home; Edie, Laura and Rod continued to Cariboo and Government St.
thence to the trail leading to Cameron St. to return. I don't have a
handle on the times or distances for those four. Alex and Bobtoc
continued their run from Cariboo to Joe's trail through to Hume Park, up Larry's
hill, headed west then south to the lane leading to Braid, east on Braid to the
Skytrain station, located the path to the east of the warehouse complex, headed
north back to Larry's trail to North Road. The twosome did not continue on
Joe's trail due to the repairs made to the trail with sharp rocks which were
hard to run/walk on, so continued north on North to the Lougheed shopping
centre, went into the parking lot west to Erickson Ave, then north back to the
Centre. Total time, 3:16, distance 19.4 km. As said, the runs
were on the best day of the year to date; all had a decent
workout.
